On 21 May 2026, we hosted the workshop Emerging Multidisciplinary Computing Visions: Early-Career Researchers Shaping Shared Futures at the 19th edition of the International Conference on Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP.ai) in Brussels. The workshop builds on a longstanding tradition of engaging the CPDP.ai community through interactive formats that foster meaningful connections between early-career researchers, senior academics, and practitioners. By creating spaces for dialogue, feedback, and networking, these workshops aim to support the professional development of emerging scholars while encouraging interdisciplinary exchange across the STEAM, policy, legal, and advocacy communities.
This year's edition brought together five early-career researchers who presented their work and participated in a series of networking, peer-feedback, and career development activities alongside approximately 20 attendees. The workshop was structured in three interactive sessions designed to foster knowledge exchange, constructive feedback, and career development among early-career researchers (ECRs) and senior experts. The workshop provided participants with opportunities to receive constructive feedback on their research, discuss common career challenges, and build connections with peers and more experienced professionals working across diverse fields
This workshop was organised under JRC FreshMinds initiative in collaboration with the ADAPT Research Ireland Centre for Digital Content Technology.
