dc.description.abstractCarbon-based liquid energy carriers for the vectorisation of rewable energies are attractive alternatives to liquid hydrogen. Thus chemical energy storage in the form of methanol represents an interesting mode for the intercontinental transport of H2 and CO2. Furthermore, in a CO2 taxing system, CO2 extraction would generate carbon credits, and additional credits would also be generated in the case of ocean disposal.en_GB
