Editorial - Performance Measurement in Management for Safety: a Challenging Issue.
The Editorial focuses on the similarities and differencies between the measurement of performance of effective management for quality and management for major accident prevention. It discusses new challenges for R&D in identifying and assessing performance indicators which cannot be simply based on easily measurable statistical frequencies of undesired outcomes, being a major accident a rare event.
