Dispersion Modelling Using Ensemble Forecast, Compared to ETEX Measurements.
Uncertainties in dispersion modelling due to errors in the metereological input data was evalueted by using ensemble forecasts. The sesnemble forecast represent uncertaintes generated by analysis errors. A temporal and spatial difference in the dispersion model forecast was found , showing the models dependence on the metereological input data. The calculations from the dispersion model have been compared to measurements from the European Tracer Experiment. The modelled dispersion fits well to the measured dispersion of the tracer. Still, small discrepancies between modelled and measured tracer dispersion suggests a revision of the models dispersion scheme within the atmospheric boundary layer.
