Effect of High Temperature Heat Treatments on the Strenght of Molybdenum Disilicide.
In the present contribution the influence of high-temperature heat treatments in air at 1400*C and 1550*C for 100 hours on the bending strenght of MoSi2 has been investigated. A heat treatment at 1400*C has no influence on the strenght but a heat-treatment at 1550*C significantly decreases the strenght due to the formation of large pores in the bulk of the material.
