Magnetic and electrical transport properties of a new compound, NpNiSn, crystallizing in the orthorhombic structure of the TiNiSi-type parameters a, b band and c of 722.8(2), 447.7(1) and 757.1(2) pm, respectively, are reported. NpNiSn orders antiferromagnetically below Tn=37K. The antiferromagnetic order is not affected by a field up to 9 T. Our data indicate a Np3+ charge state for the Np ion and a possible heavy-fermion character of this compound.
