Speciation of Organic Matter, Nitrogen and Phosphorus on Soils Irrigated with Industrial Wastewater.
The present work analyses the quality of wastewater produced in a citrus processing industry whose effluent, after a primary treatment, is applied on an experimental plot of Pinus pinea situated in Sicily (I). Heavy metals (Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Zn, Fe, Pb) in wastewater were at concentrations below permitted levels regarding the application of sewage sludge to agricultural soils (Council Directives 86/278/EEC on protection of the environment).
