Current Use of Probabilistic Safety Evaluations for Advanced Reactor Concepts

There is consensus that for Advanced Reactor Concepts safety goals and modern risk assessment licensing review frameworks shall be developed. Objective of this paper is to screen information avaialble from different countries on such efforts concerning use of PSA or specific probabilistic evaluations. The screening is done for many different types of Advanced Reactor Concepts. Result is that surprisingly little has been done so far in this area; thus the often published claims on significantly lower risk levels are at least not justifiable.
