Open Source Information Collection, Processing and Applications
The article describes the use of open source information and corresponding tools for treaty monitoring namely for nuclear non-prlofertaion applications. The article discusses accessibility of information and the main features of open-source information collection and processing. It then describes the different phases of document analysis and the most relevant tools, including those developed at JRC IPSC. The following topics are covered: Nuclear Non-Proliferation, Export Control of Goods and Technologies, Data Collection Keywords, Data Indexing, Document Augmentation, Multi-lingual information, Integration of information from multiple sources, namely with Geographical Information Systems. It ends with a discussion on the presented topics including lines for future research.
