Brief Review of Some Tacis Programs on Ageing of Systems, Structures and Components of VVER NPPs
During the years of Tacis assistance activities in nuclear safety quite a few programs were dedicated to the ageing of VVER systems structures and components (SSC). The ageing of the Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) was of special concern due to the faster than expected RPV embrittlement. Most of the Tacis ageing projects were so far dedicated to the RPV embrittlement and integrity issue. A few projects were dealing with other ageing issues and management of ageing in general at VVER NPPs. In this paper some selected Tacis projects related to RPV ageing and management of ageing in general will be described.
