Development and Implementation of a Tsunami Wave Propagation Model at JRC

A new model to predict the Tsunami wave propagation has been developed at JRC Ispra. The model can be used on-line by any user who connects with the web site http://tsunami.jrc.it . The model is called automatically by a program who checks the USGS web site for the presence of new earthquakes and, if the conditions for a Tsunami are evaluated, an online calculation is performed, stored on the web site and sent by email to the users registered in the system.
