INSPIRE: an Example of Participative Policy-making in Europe. Openness, Participation and Transparency.
INSPIRE is a proposed European Directive establishing the legal framework for setting
up and operating an Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe. The first target of
INSPIRE is in relation to environmental policies. It is clear however that once this
infrastructure is in place, it will also benefit other sectors such as agriculture, transport
and energy.
