Remote Sensing Inputs to Forest Fire Danger Rating
Fire danger rating and mapping in nation-wide operational systems adopted in Canada, USA and Europe are outlined in the paper, recalling the background and basic models they are based upon, identifying the common features and stating the current contribution of remote sensing to their actual implementation.
