Investigation of Mechanically Enhanced Metal-Ion Release from Biomaterials by Means of Radiotracer Technique
The present report is divided into two parts. The first part outlines the background of the project in order to give the necessary information for the understanding of the experimental approach chosen in the project. This part is more detailed than the original project proposal and is not needed to gain a quick overview over the progress of the project. The second part of the report concentrates on the performed work since the start of the project in August 2002. The main achievements have been:
· PC control and data acquisition of testing device.
· Definition of shape and dimensions of specimens.
· Evaluation of experimental parameters or thin layer activation.
· First fretting experiments.
