Policies for a Sustainable Use of the Soil Resource: A Mediterranean Perspective

The development of a coherent policy framework for soil protection is one of the goals of the 6th Environment Action Programme. Through the development of a thematic strategy for soil protection also in the Mediterranean there will be a new framework available for implementing soil protection strategies at local level. A review of existing policies for the sustainable use of the soil resource and the possible implementation of similar policies in the Mediterranean are reviewed and discussed
