In the year 2004 an activity has started for the assessment of the present concentration levels of possible contaminants in the soils of the Provincia of Pavia. The objective is to create a data base on organic compound concentrations, heavy metals and soil physico-chemical properties by using standardised methods. Additionally Biodiversity and Bioindication investigations are underway in three soils undergoing different treatments. Linking these activities with moss collection and analysis, the study will provide extensive information about the "state of health" of soils.
