The article should give a very basic overview about the development of a BREF from the first beginning until the end (Invitation the IEF members of all Member States for participation and nomination of TWG members, meetings and decisions, information exchange and providing of information by TWG members). Special attention will paid to the integrated issue, the information exchange (different media water, air, soil) and cross media effects.
