Safety Culture and Organizational Factors in Accident Analysis - Proceedings of the Seminar, Petten (NL), 14 October 2005

cover
This document introduces the concepts of organizational factors and safety culture and their importance in accident causation. The increasing interest in safety culture and in determining the role that organizational-level factors play in industrial accidents and incidents has grown in the recent years. Organizational factors are considered as important as technical and human aspects for accident prevention and mitigation. In this perspective, a seminar was organized at JRC-IE, Petten in October 2005. The report presents the results of the seminar during which some recent events in the nuclear and non-nuclear field were presented and analysed.
