The paper examines the challenges presented by the need to assure the information infrastructure. It discusses the concept of information infrastructure and the security aspects of it. Then, the security requirements and the different perspectives on security are elaborated. FInally, the main systemic challenges are summarised, and the risk-related decision-making processes detailed.
