Objective is to describe the development of a methodology and web-based tool for mapping and cross-comparing safety approaches in European and other Research Reactor (RR) facilities to detect principal similarities and differences. Information for RRs from Europe and beyond has been collected and included in the web-based benchmarking tool DARES. DARES is considered as possible application of the IAEA Code of Conduct on Safety of RRs, resulting in self-assessment of RR safety status in regulatory bodies and operating organisations relative to the guidance in the Code.
