Bacterial Spores Destruction Using an ICP Source
Elimination of potentially harmful microorganisms presented on surfaces of wide variety of devices, instruments and materials is
of a major concern in many different areas, in the first place in the medical praxis and pharmaceutical industries, but also in electronics, textile industry or even in space applications. Necessity of sterilization of heat sensitive materials, which makes routinely used thermal treatment impossible, originated development of new sterilization methods, that in the ideal case should meet also another demands concerning effectiveness, universality, safety and low energy consumption. From this perspective non-equilibrium discharges are auspicious candidate which can be demonstrated on the increasing number of articles relating to this topic in last years.
