Fission Cross Section Calculations for Pa Isotopes
Our neutron-induced fission cross-section calculations have been extended to several Protactinium isotopes, after the successful neutron-induced reaction cross-section calculations done for 235U, and 237Np [1, 2].
The statistical model code STATIS was used to calculate the reaction cross sections (including fission) based on experimental fission cross-section data for 231,233Pa measured at IRMM [3]. For 233Pa(n,f), the calculations have been extended up to 50 MeV incident neutron energy, considering higher fission chances. This implied the need for additional calculations for the neighbouring isotopes. Also for 231Pa(n,f) the calculation were performed up to 30 MeV incident neutron energy. For this isotope quite a number of literature data exist, however with a large spread. The present calculation fit very well the experimental data of Ref. [3] and are quite different to previous evaluations for this nucleus.
The new results will be presented.
