Europäische Geodateninfrastrukturen; Status, Herausforderungen und Perspektiven
This paper presents the current status of and progress to develop an European Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) considering especially the European Union initiative INSPIRE. Focussing on environmental information INSPIRE aims to create a framework for the development of an European SDI. INSPIRE goals to support the provision of high quality geoinformation that can be seamlessly integrated and harmonised, this way underpinning the implementation, monitoring and assessment of environmental policies within the European Union.
