Effect of the Low-Pressure Microwave Discharges on the Pyrogens Bioactivity
The effect of microwave discharge on the pyrogens bioactivity has been studied in different oxygen and hydrogen containing mixtures with the aim of identifying the crucial de-pyrogenization agent. According to the obtained biological results and their comparison with properties of the plasma determined by means of the optical emission spectroscopy and Langmuir probe measurements, it has been found that under experimental conditions tested the de-pyrogenization is not greatly affected neither by UV radiation nor charged particles, but it is considerably accelerated by presence of atomic hydrogen.
