L'Innovazione Industriale in Italia: Persiste il Modello "Senza Ricerca"?
The paper introduces first the Italian innovation model and the role of R&D in it. The second section of the paper describes the general characteristics and results of the 2005 EU industrial R&D investment Scoreboard (Scoreboard). The Italian companies present in the Scoreboard are presented and analysed in detail in the third section and the characteristics of their R&D investment as well as is discussed in the fourth one with an excursus of third economic and financial performances. The fifth Section includes the summary of the findings and the conclusive remarks, with some suggestions for possible actions by firms and policy-makers.
