Freeze-drying for the Stabilisation of Shellfish Toxins in Mussel Tissue (Mytilus Edulis) Reference Material
Two samples of mussels (Mytilus edulis) were collected from the southwest coast of Ireland containing different shellfish toxins. Aliquots were frozen as a wet homogenates and the other aliquots were freeze dried and milled. Stability of the different shellfish toxins was investigated for the two different materials at -20, +4, +20, +40 °C. In general the freeze dried material showed better stability for the shellfish toxins investigated.
