Workshop on Radionuclides in the Environment and Foodstuff - 27-28 June 2007 - Karlsruhe (Germany)

In the framework of the Integration and Enlargement policy of the EU, from the 27 to the 28 of June 2007 a workshop on "Radionuclides in the environment and foodstuff" took place at the Institute for Transuranium Elements (JRC - Karlsruhe). The aim of this workshop was firstly, to discuss with the Network laboratories the results of the sampling trail performed in the Slovakian republic during 2005, where sediments and soil samples were collected on the vicinity of a nuclear facility. Secondly, the problematic of the determination of radionuclides in foodstuff-taking into consideration the guidelines of the Codex Alimentarius. These guidelines have been afforded in key note lectures from Member States representatives to fulfil the regulations.
