Project H-22: Synthesis and HYDROGEN SORPTION characterisation of magnesium-rich compounds with transition metals
Our research activities during 2007 were focused on the synthesis of new Mg-rich alloys, and on their characterization in relation to their crystal structure and macroscopic hydrogen sorption properties. The collaboration made use of the synthesis and crystallographic characterization facilities at the Uppsala University and of the hydrogen sorption instruments and microstructural analysis services at JRC. The preparation of the starting materials and their thorough crystallographic characterization were performed at the Uppsala University. The kinetic of desorption, cycling properties and microstructural analysis were performed in the Joint Research Centre.
