In deze presentatie wil ik focussen op de rol van wetenschap in de ontwikkeling van het beleid en de implementatie ervan. Ik zal kort een aantal conceptuele modellen bespreken waarmee de relatie en de interface tussen wetenschap en beleid kan beschreven worden. Elk van die modellen gaat gepaard met onderliggende aannamen en sterke en zwakke punten. Geen enkel model kan dus pretenderen de universele oplossing voor alle uitdagingen in petto te hebben.
