Activation Cross Section Measurements for Neutron-induced Reactions on Cr, Ni, Cu, Zr, Ta and W Isotopes from the Threshold to 20 MeV
Studies of excitation functions of fast neutron-induced reactions are important for many fields of nuclear science, nuclear technology development. In this work, recent results are reported on neutron-induced reaction cross section measurements for different isotopes of Cr, Ni, Cu, Ta and W obtained with the activation technique. Quasi-monoenergetic neutrons were produced via the 3H(d,n)4He reaction. Both natural and enriched samples were used to account for the interference between reactions leading to the same nuclide. Activities of the samples were determined by gamma-spectrometry using high-purity germanium detector. The 27Al(n,a)24Na standard cross section was used for neutron fluence rate determination. The present results are compared with other measurements, evaluated data and nuclear model calculations.
