The BIO-BIO Project

The Pavia Project had as principal objective the evaluation of the quality and health of soil in Pavia Province and included a study to appraise the eventual differences in soil health, that have resulted from different management practices: organic farming, animal manure and mineral fertilizers and soil receiving sewage sludge. Soil health was appraised by studying physical and chemical properties coupled with biodiversity and bio indication concepts, using some organisms and/or their ¿products¿ that are present under the three main management systems. Twelve international organizations participated in the BIO-BIO Project.
