Full Report on Cross Matrix Comparison of Semivolatile Organic Compounds (SOCs) in Water, Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM), Sediments and Biota - 23 JRC Sites
The sampling and analyses by the RWER labs extended the picture of the chemical status of the River Danube and it¿s tributaries to many persistent and emerging compounds where so far no spatially data coverage was available. Water, sediment, suspended matter and biota were analysed and thanks to large volume water sampling techniques, combined with highly selective and sensitive detection technology, many compounds could be analysed quantitatively for the first time. The results reveal an overall good chemical status of the River Danube when compared to other major European Rivers.
