Assessing the Impact of Public Sector Geographic Information
This short paper introduces the INSPIRE Directive aimed at establishing an infrastructure for spatial information in Europe and identifies the areas of convergence with the Public Sector Information Directive. These include the common concern for assessing the impacts of increased access and use of public information. The paper reports on the study commissioned by the JRC on the soico-economic impact of the spatial data infrastructure of Catalonia as a contribution to the debate in this field.
