Guidance on Reporting
The chapter gives an overview of the current reporting requirements under UNFCCC, including the general underlying principles. The typical structure of a GHG inventory is illustrated, including an example table for reporting C stock changes from deforestation.
The chapter outlines the major challenges that developing countries will likely encounter when implementing the reporting principles, elaborates concepts already agreed upon in a UNFCCC context and describes how a conservative approach may help to overcome some of the difficulties described.
