Institute for Transuranium Elements - Annual Report 2008
The Annual Report 2008 of the Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU) of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) describes the progress made during the second year of the 7th Framework Programme (2007 to 2011) of the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) for nuclear research and training activities.
In the first part of the report an overview of the scientific objectives, important events and facts & figures of ITU is given.
The second part of the report presents a more in-depth technical description including highlight articles on important breakthrough achieved in 2008, of progress made within the ten actions spred over the three policy agenda: Nuclear waste management and environmental impact, Nuclear safety and Nuclear security.
