Certification of Master Batches of Charpy V-notch Reference Test Pieces of Nominal Energy Levels 30 J, 80 J and 120 J, ERM-FA013ba, ERM-FA015v and ERM-FA016ax
This certification report describes the processing and characterisation of three batches of Charpy V-notch certified reference test pieces. These batches will serve as Master Batches, to be used by IRMM for the certification of secondary batches. Sets of five pieces taken from a secondary batch are distributed by IRMM for the verifcation of pendulum impact test machines according to EN 10045-2 or according to ISO 158-2. The certified values for absorbed energy are estimates of the mean value of the whole batch. The associated undertainties are standard uncertainties corresponding to a confidence level of about 68 %. The certified values are defined by the Charpy impact test method as described in EN 10045 1 and ISO 148 and are traceable to the SI system of units.
