Risk Informed In-Service Inspection - Progress in the European Nuclear Industry
Risk Informed In-Service-Inspection (RI-ISI) aims to integrate service experience, plant and operating conditions, other deterministic information, and risk insights; to this extent any RI-ISI programme is specific to a particular plant. In principle, a RI-ISI methodology may be applied to any structure, system or component whose failure would have consequences for plant safety and availability; in practice RI-ISI methodology is applied almost exclusively to pipework.
This paper reviews the progress of risk informed in-service inspection in the european nuclear industry.
