Photovoltaic cells on the edges of glass or polymer slabs doped with fluorescent dyes, act as PV concentrators, with significant efficiencies even under diffuse irradiation. They do not need tracking systems and are potentially cheap: they could represent a competitive solution in the future for residential use.
