Dans le cadre du Programme européenne de Protection des INfrastructures Critiques (EPCIP), la Commission européenne propose une approche de la criticité des infrastructures fondée sur l'évaluation ex ante des conséquences liées à leur endommagement potentiel. L'exemple d'une infrastructure gazière illustre une approche méthodologique fondée sur la distinction de trois niveaux de vulnerabilité - structurel, fonctionnel, territorial - permettant d'évaluer les conséquences liées à l'interruption d'un noeud critique de ce reseau
