MSPA-Guidos: Innovative Methods In Landscape Pattern Analysis
Fragmentation and connectivity play a key-role in nature conservation, habitat suitability, biodiversity, and landscape planning. Existing assessment schemes only address local features without accounting for their inter-dependence with the neighboring environment. As a direct consequence, they fail to automatically detect perforations (holes) and corridors connecting core areas. A generic automatic methodology addresses these shortcomings and user-driven control parameters may further customize the analysis to the end-user's needs.
