Journal of Coastal Conservation (JCC) - Special Issue on: Advances in Integrated Coastal Management for the Mediterranean and Black Sea
The JCCPM Special Issue on "Advances in Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) for the Mediterranean and Black Sea" ¿ which originates from the 2nd International Conference / Workshop on the State-of-the-Art of ICM in the Mediterranean & the Black Sea: Immediate Needs for Research, Education/Training & Implementation (MED & Black Sea ICM 08) held on 14-18 October 2008, in Akyaka, Turkey ¿ aims to: (a) introducing past and present requirements and recommandations, as emerging from the MEDCOAST experience, (b) reviewing development and current status of ICM in both Mediterranean and Black Sea, and (c) presenting a few novel ICM issues, which are emerging as critical items in the international ICM debate. The topics of the papers that compose the special issue are the following:
(1) MEDCOAST perspective: past & present ICM in the Med Sea / Black Sea
(2) review: ICM in the Med Sea and current status
(3) review: ICM in the Black Sea and current status
(4) new issues: implementation models
(5) new issues: coastal evaluation
(6) new issues: setback lines
(7) new issues: cultural resources
(8) new issues: ecosystem approach
