Study of Thermodynamic Properties of Pu-Al Alloys in Eutectic LiCI-KCI
In this work some thermodynamic properties of Pu-Al alloys have been investigated. The alloys are formed on a solid Al electrode during Pu electrodeposition in molten LiCl-KCl Eutectic. The Pu-Al alloy properties were studied in the temperature range of 673 ¿ 723 K by electrochemical techniques. Open circuit potential measurements, after small depositions of Pu metal onto the Al were used to identify the different Pu-Al alloys and to determine their thermodynamic properties (¿G, ¿H and ¿S) by an e.m.f. method.
