Covariance Data of Experimental Observables in the Resonance Region
Cross section data in evaluated data libraries are parameterised in terms of nuclear reaction theory. In most cases the cross sections are calculated using model parameters which are adjusted to experimental data. Hence, model cross sections depend strongly on the quality of experimental data and an assessment of the experimental covariance data is of primary importance. In this contribution the uncertainty components of experimental observables in the resonance region, i.e. transmission and reaction yields, are discussed and quantified. In addition, a procedure and format to store the full covariance information of experimental data in the EXFOR data base is proposed.
