Validation of geo-information for emergency response: the JRC proposal in SAFER

Validation is an emerging topic with respect to geo-information products for emergency response. JRC is working in the framework of SAFER project on the development and implementation of a comprehensive, product-oriented protocol including scientific, technical and operational validation. The paper presents JRC approach to validation, discusses two open issues (how to develop service validation and validation ranges) then summarizes main observations and critical aspects based on the first practical experiences.
