RESIDUAL POWER IS OF CONCERN FOR SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSEQUENCES FOR ALL KINDS OF NUCLEAR REACTORS. IN THE CASE OF NET FUSION REACTOR, RESIDUAL POWER IS DUE TO DECAY HEAT OF ACTIVATED STRUCTURAL MATERIALS. PRELIMINARY TEMPERATURE TRANSIENTS AFTER PLASMA SHUTDOWN HAVE BEEN ASSESSED ASSUMING 1 YEAR OF NOMINAL RUNNING AND 100% OF LOAD FACTOR.
