The article describes the general framework and criteria as well as the specific measures of the agri-environmental program of the German federal state Baden-Wuerttemberg (MEKA III). The development of the program is delineated and changes made compared to previous agri-environmental programs are highlighted. The article concludes with a brief assessment of the program.
