Securing disaster supply chains with cryptography enhanced RFID
The deployment and management of an ecient supply chain is one of the most
important elements in the response to a natural disaster. The chaotic environment
and degraded conditions in the aftermath of a natural disaster are severe challenges
to the task of maintaining the supply chain and delivering the correct equipment
and goods to the right places and at the right time. RFID has been increasingly
considered, in the context of natural disaster scenarios to improve the management
of the supply chain. An important requirement is security. RFID devices must not
be tampered with and they should be resistant to security attacks to ensure that the
supply chain is not disrupted by criminals and that goods are not stolen or tampered
with. In this context, this paper will present the application and benefits of secure
RFID for disaster supply chains. This paper will analyze practical utilization of
this type of device in the resolution of emergency crises to guarantee the reliability
of sealing of the goods and their identification. The establishment of a logistics
tracking framework based on secure RFID has the potential to greatly increase the
eectiveness of future emergency crises response operations.
