|Abstract:||Exercises have long been widely used in various sectors. They are now commonly deployed by many players in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector, mostly telecommunication network operators and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs). Exercises ensure that participants are fully prepared and capable of responding to incidents by efficiently following existing preparedness measures, such as business continuity and disaster recovery procedures. Increasingly Member States (MS) of the European Union (EU) and businesses with an understanding of infrastructure protection and disaster management are viewing exercises as an essential means to demonstrate and gain greater knowledge of security and gaps in their preparedness.|
