HIGHLIGHT
The mean temperatures were higher than the long term average in the western and northern regions of Europe. On the contrary the Balkan Peninsula and Turkey experienced a colder autumn. Scarce precipitation was recorded in several places in Central and Eastern Europe.
Forecast air temperatures above the long-term average in western and northern Europe, lower than average temperatures in central Europe and areas around Black Sea. Abundant precipitation in Portugal; scarce rainfall in central and south-eastern Europe.
