Research at JRC in Support of EU Climate Change Policy Making
The present fourth edition of “Research at the JRC in Support of EU Climate Change Policy Making” shows concrete research activities and results that contributed to the EC policy initiatives of the past two years. They include the Commissions’ “Analysis of options to move beyond 20% greenhouse gas emission reductions and assessing the risk of carbon leakage” its “Roadmap for moving to a competitive low carbon economy in 2050” , development of a robust accounting framework for Land Use Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF), preparations for an EU strategy for adaptation, following the White Paper “Adapting to climate change: towards a European framework for action”, and the EU contribution to the Global Climate Observing System. This booklet further presents a range of activities that might contribute to a sound science base for future policy action.
